Long Term Athletic Development
Kibera Sport Development Programme uses a 6-phase Long Term Athletic Development model that can take anything from eight to twelve years of training for a talented child to develop into an elite athlete.
We are transforming the lives of Kibera youths one at a time. Using sport and education - we create lasting impact and empower them to drive change in their lives, their families and their communities.
We are constantly in need of running and cycle gear. We are happy to receive your cycling equipment that you are not using in Nairobi, but can also be sent to collection centers in London and Delaware (USA)
We are sending a team to the World Duathlon Championships in Pontevedra Spain. We are doing all the fundraising ourselves. You can support us!
Our approach is individual centered. We pick on a few children and try to help change their lives using sport as a tool, through a period of 10 years. K.S.D.P programs uses sport and play to improve health, teach basic life skills, educate and develop athletic abilities for children and the youth in Kibera slums.
Our vision is to provide opportunities for sporting achievement and personal development for kibera children and empower them to become competent, confident and responsible adults.
